New generic Top Level Domains, or New Domains refer to the new domain extensions available since 2013. Before the introduction of the nTLDs there were along with hundreds of country code extensions, 22 generic extensions.
The new gTLDs were introduced after the Internet community convinced ICANN that more domain extensions were needed to satisfy the global demand for domain names. These new gTLDs contain and allow for the first time domains in non-Latin script, such as Chinese or Arabic. See also our New Domain Extensions page on our website.
